1Overview #
Licence. Cashier is a feature of Sales, bought on its own (a module of its own until October 2026 - licences that had it keep it). Without it the Cashier pages, its dashboard and its reports are not offered.
2What is this master? #
- One record per counter. Use Find (F2) to load one, Add (F3) to create, Modify (F4) to edit, Save (F5) to store, Esc to cancel an edit.
- Opened as an embedded dialog from another screen, Use counter returns the loaded Counter ID to that screen.
- Counters appear in the Cash/Card Collection window's open-counter list only after a Cash Opening entry exists for them for your user — creating the counter here is the first step, not the whole flow.
3Step by step #
A cash counter is a till — the physical drawer opening sessions run on.
- Press Add (F3) and give the counter its ID and name — COUNTER-1 . The ID locks after saving because sessions reference it by text.
- Press Save (F5) and confirm. Status starts as Available.
- Open the day on it from Cash Opening; the counter shows Open until the closing releases it.
4Fields #
- Counter ID is the counter's name (up to 50 characters, e.g. Counter-1 ), is required and is the record's key — it must be unique and can't be renamed once saved, because cash-opening sessions reference the counter by this text.
- Description is free descriptive text (up to 255 characters), e.g. the counter's physical location.
- Status comes from the fixed status pick-list ( Available / Open ). New counters start as Available ; Open is normally stamped by the cash-opening flow while a session is running, so you rarely set it by hand.
5Why is a pick-list empty? #
- The Status options come from the fixed application list (Available / Open). If it is empty, the status list rows are missing from the database — contact the administrator.
- If the voucher page's Cash/Card Collection window shows no open counter , the counter exists but no Cash Opening has been made for it for your user, or the opening tracks a different voucher type.
6Integrity rules #
- The Counter ID is unique — a second counter with the same id is refused.
- A counter that has cash-opening records can't be deleted — the delete is refused with the number of sessions found.
- User permissions (_PERM triggers) can refuse a save or delete even when the form allows it.
- Deleting a counter also clears its document links (a database trigger cleans them up automatically).
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Cash Counter Master screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
