1Overview #
This is the page to open before you ring a customer, and the page to show somebody who asks "what is happening with them?". It gathers what is otherwise spread over leads, deals, follow-ups and the books, and puts it in one place, newest first.
Nothing can be typed here. It is a reading page: every row opens the record it comes from, where the work is actually done.
2Who it is for #
- See at a glance what is planned with this customer - and, more tellingly, when nothing is.
- See the open pipeline and what has been won.
- See every person you know at that account, and every lead they came from.
- Follow the whole story on one timeline: follow-ups, stage changes and the account's vouchers from the books.
3What it is not for #
- Changing anything. Open the lead, the deal or the contact from the row.
- A list of customers. It is one customer at a time; reach it from a contact, a lead or a deal.
4Step by step #
- Open it from a contact (Customer view), or from a converted lead. - It opens by account when the person has one, and by person when they do not.
- Read the top line: open pipeline, won, and how many deals are running. - Planned follow-ups turning orange at zero is the warning worth acting on.
- Use the three buttons over the timeline to show or hide follow-ups, stage changes and vouchers. - All three are on to begin with.
- Click any row to open the record behind it. - A voucher opens on its own entry screen in view mode.
- Refresh (F5) after you have changed something elsewhere.
5The fields #
- The top line - Figures, not fields - nothing here can be typed.
- Open pipeline - The value of every open deal with this customer that you are allowed to see.
- Won - The value of their deals closed as won.
- Open deals - How many deals are running.
- Planned follow-ups - How many open follow-ups exist. Orange at zero - nobody is planning to speak to this customer.
- Next action - The earliest planned follow-up. Shown in red when it is already past.
- Last contact - When somebody last recorded anything with them.
- People / Leads - How many contacts and leads belong to this customer.
- The lists
- Planned - Open follow-ups: type, overdue or planned, when, whose, and on which record. The ⧉ button opens the lead or deal it belongs to.
- Deals - Every opportunity you may see, with its stage, owner, close date and amount.
- People - The contacts at this account, with role, phone and e-mail.
- Leads they came from - The enquiries behind it all, with status, date, source and owner. Hidden when there are none.
- Timeline - The newest 300 entries: follow-ups, stage changes of deals you may see, and the account's last 100 vouchers from the books. The three buttons above it choose what is shown.
6Rules and integrity #
- It shows only what you may see - Deals are filtered by ownership, sharing and your tier, so two people can open the same customer and honestly see different totals.
- Vouchers need the account - The books side appears only for a customer with a ledger account. A person with no account shows their own leads, deals and follow-ups alone.
- Nothing here is editable - Every row is a door to the record that owns the information.
7Shortcut keys #
- F5 - Refresh - gather everything again.
- Esc - Close the tab.
8If something does not work #
"CRM is not licensed for this company ... Contact your software vendor."
- Why
- The company's licence has no CRM module.
- What to do
- Ask your vendor to add CRM, then sign out and in.
"Requested action denied due to security restrictions. The customer view needs the View right on 'CRM Contacts' in User Manager (CRM module)."
- Why
- The 360 view is read through the contacts right.
- What to do
- An administrator grants View on CRM Contacts.
"Open this page from a contact, a lead or an opportunity - it needs to know which customer to show."
- Why
- The page was opened straight from the address bar, with neither an account nor a contact named.
- What to do
- Open it from the record - the customer link on a lead, a contact or a deal.
"Say which account or contact to show."
- Why
- The same thing seen from the server: neither id reached it.
- What to do
- Go back to the record and use its customer link.
"This customer is not among your leads, deals or contacts, nor your team's."
- Why
- The 360 view shows a customer only where you have something of your own on them.
- What to do
- Ask a sales manager, who sees them all, or have the record shared with you.
"That account is not in the ledger master."
- Why
- The ledger behind the customer has been deleted.
- What to do
- Ask an administrator - the CRM records still point at an account that is gone.
The books figures are missing, or look short
- Why
- Vouchers are read within your branch and report option, and only voucher types that carry a lead link contribute to the lead figures.
- What to do
- Check your report option; for lead-linked revenue, the voucher type needs 'Track Lead ID' on in Voucher Manager.
A deal or a lead I expected is not on the timeline
- Why
- The timeline is built from the records you may see.
- What to do
- Have them shared with you, or ask a sales manager.
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Customer view screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
