Fixed Assets Dashboard

The asset register in one look, for the branches you may see: what the assets cost, what has been depreciated, what they are worth in the books, and what needs attention.

1What the figures are #

  • Assets in the books - every asset not written off. Written-off assets are left out of all the figures.
  • Cost - the purchase cost, or the value an asset was last revalued at.
  • Depreciation so far - everything charged by posted runs, with any opening difference.
  • Book value - cost less depreciation so far.
  • Depreciation this year - posted in the financial year shown at the top.
  • This branch is charged up to - the last run of the branch you are signed in to. It turns amber until the end of last month is posted.
  • Cover ending or lapsed and Maintenance due - the items Asset Maintenance and AMC reminds about (those with a reminder set).
  • Capital work in progress - the cost tagged to projects not yet capitalised.

2Toolbar & keyboard #

  • Refresh (F3) reads everything again. The page does not refresh by itself. Esc closes it.

3If something does not work #

Fixed Assets Dashboard is not on the menu / "You do not hold the right to open the Fixed Assets Dashboard ..."
Why
The dashboard has a right of its own, among the user preferences: User Can View Fixed Assets Dashboard. Without it the menu does not show the dashboard and the page shows no figure. Administrators always hold it.
What to do
An administrator ticks User Can View Fixed Assets Dashboard in User Manager > Preferences. Sign in again to see the menu item.
A tile shows "?" with a message under it
Why
That one figure could not be read - most often because the part of Fixed Assets it belongs to has not been set up in this company. The other tiles stand.
What to do
Read the message under the tile; an administrator runs the script of that part (transfer and disposal, maintenance, tagging, work-flow).
"This branch is charged up to" is amber although depreciation was posted
Why
It looks at the branch you are signed in to, and wants it charged up to the end of last month.
What to do
Post the run up to the last month end on Depreciation Run - or sign in to the branch you mean.
The cover and maintenance counts differ from the Due tab of Asset Maintenance and AMC
Why
The dashboard counts what the program reminds about - items with a reminder set. The Due tab also lists items without one.
What to do
Give the contract or plan a reminder if it should be counted.
A written-off asset is missing from the figures
Why
Only assets still in the books are counted.
What to do
See Fixed Assets Disposals for the assets written off.
The figures are not those of another branch
Why
The dashboard shows the branches you may see, whatever report option you signed in with.
What to do
Ask an administrator for the branch in User Manager.

This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Fixed Assets Dashboard screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
