1Overview #
Licence. Customer Card is a feature of Sales, bought on its own. Without it the card and renewal pages are not offered and the voucher types' Track Customer Card switch has no effect - Voucher Manager keeps it as it was set.
2What is this master? #
- One record per card. Find (F2) loads one, Add (F3) creates, Modify (F4) edits, Save (F5) stores it; after a save the card stays on screen in view mode.
- Card No is unique across all cards — the till matches on it, and the numeric form supports scanning.
3Step by step #
A customer card identifies a member customer for discounts and loyalty points at billing.
- Press Add (F3) , enter the card number as printed, the holder's details and the point profile it earns under.
- Press Save (F5) and confirm.
- At billing, Apply Card on the voucher (or POS) takes the card number and its discount/points behaviour follows automatically.
4Validity & renewal #
- Expiry Date on the card is the issued expiry and never changes. Renewing adds a history row with a new date, and the card's real validity — shown as Valid To — is always the latest renewal.
- Renew Card… works on a saved card in view mode; the new expiry must be later than the current one.
- Removing a renewal rolls the validity back to the previous one (or the issued expiry).
5Discount & points #
- Discount Mode decides how the card discounts: from the product master's discount rate, from profit percentage, a flat percentage, a special price list, or points.
- The field beside it changes meaning with the mode, and its label follows: Flat Percentage types the percentage itself (the only mode with free entry); Special Price picks from the Price Types master; Discount Rate Defined Product Master picks Default / Customer Card / Wholesale Discount Rate; Profit Percentage picks the cost basis (UnitPrice / BasicCost / NetCost). Switching mode clears a value the new mode's list doesn't contain.
- Points mode swaps the controls over: the value option goes dark and the Customer Points Profile becomes the one to fill — it links the card to a loyalty profile (set up under Loyalty Point Settings), which decides how many points each purchase earns. In every other mode the profile is disabled and cleared.
6Rules & integrity #
- Customer name and card no are required; the expiry can't be earlier than the issue date; a card no already issued to another customer is refused by name.
- A card that has earned or redeemed loyalty points cannot be deleted — untick Is Active to withdraw it instead. Deleting a card that can be deleted also removes its renewal history.
- Renaming a card number carries its renewal history along automatically.
7Why is a pick-list empty? #
- Customer Points Profile — create profiles under Loyalty Point Settings first; inactive profiles are not offered.
- Price Type(s) (Special Price mode) — comes from the Price Type master; a typed value is accepted too.
8If something does not work #
"Card no can't be blank." / "Customer name can't be blank."
- Why
- A card is identified by its number and belongs to a named customer.
- What to do
- Fill both.
"Card no '...' is already issued to another customer."
- Why
- One number, one card - the counter reads the number to find the customer.
- What to do
- Check who holds it; issue a different number.
"Expiry date can't be earlier than the issue date."
- Why
- A card that expires before it is issued could never be used.
- What to do
- Correct the dates.
"This card has loyalty-point transactions and can't be deleted. Untick 'Is Active' to withdraw it instead."
- Why
- Deleting it would orphan the points already earned.
- What to do
- Withdraw it by making it inactive.
"Card #... not found." / "No card is issued with the number '...'."
- Why
- The card has gone, or the number is wrong.
- What to do
- Press F2 and pick again.
"Card ... is not activated." / "Card ... expired on ..." at the counter
- Why
- The counter refuses a card that was never activated, or whose expiry has passed.
- What to do
- Activate it here, or renew it on the Renewal screen.
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Customer Card screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
