1Overview #
Licence. Customer Loyalty Points is a feature of Sales, bought on its own. Without it the point profiles and point transactions pages are not offered, and points cannot be redeemed in the cash / card collection window.
2What is this voucher? #
- One row per manual point movement on a card. Sales invoices earn points automatically; this page is for hand adjustments — goodwill points, corrections, and over-the-counter redemptions.
- Find (F2) / Add (F3) / Modify (F4) / Save (F5) as everywhere. After a save the voucher stays on screen in view mode.
- Every save goes through the database procedure SaveCustomerPointTransaction — the same one the desktop uses — which also creates the journal voucher for redemptions. The voucher number under the title is assigned by it.
3Step by step #
The points ledger — every earn and redeem per card, mostly automatic, adjustable here.
- Find the card to review; its point movements list out with a running balance.
- For a manual adjustment, add an entry with the points and reason, and save with F5 .
4Fields #
- Debit / Credit — the transaction type. A debit (code D ) takes points off the card and opens the accounting panel; every other type adds points.
- Customer Card — active cards only. Picking one fills the holder's name, mobile, email and points profile, and shows the card's balance panel.
- Points — how many points move. For additions the Amount is suggested from the profile's earning slab (editable); for a redemption it is locked and computed as the proportional share of the card's available amount.
- Voucher Type / Debit / Credit Account — shown for redemptions. The debit account defaults to the profile's redemption account (e.g. an expenses account); the credit side is the cash/bank account paying the customer.
5Balance & validation #
- The balance panel reads the database function FNCustomerPointSummery — the same function the till uses — showing redeemable points, their money value and points already lapsed.
- A redemption larger than the card's balance is rejected by the database itself ("Insufficent points/Balance") when the voucher saves — the balance panel is advisory, the trigger is the truth.
- If the balance shows a dash the summary function is missing in this database — run the loyalty-points DB scripts.
6Status & cancellation #
- A new voucher is Open ; modifying one marks it Alter . Change Status offers the statuses your user may set (only Cancelled on non-ERP editions).
- Changing the status also updates the linked journal voucher, and deleting the voucher removes it — both are database triggers, matching the desktop exactly.
- A Cancelled voucher's status can't be changed again, and status changes need the Approve permission on this voucher type (permission group GTRAN ).
7Why is a pick-list empty? #
- Customer Card — only cards ticked Is Active in the Customer Card master appear; issue or re-activate the card there.
- Debit / Credit — comes from the seed list acctrantype ; when the list is missing the two standard codes are offered.
- Voucher Type — accounting voucher types only ( Grp = 'Acc' in the Voucher Manager).
- Accounts — active ledger accounts from the Ledger master.
- Amount not filling? — the profile has no earning slab covering that point value, or the slab view is missing in this database; type the amount yourself.
8If something does not work #
"Pick the customer card." / "Pick Debit/Credit (transaction type)." / "Points must be greater than zero." / "Description can't be blank."
- Why
- A point entry says whose card, which way, how many and why.
- What to do
- Fill all four.
"No profile slab covers this point value - enter the amount manually."
- Why
- The card's profile has no band for that invoice value.
- What to do
- Type the amount, or add the band to the profile.
"The save was rejected by DBO.SaveCustomerPointTransaction."
- Why
- The database's own routine refused the entry, so nothing was written.
- What to do
- Check the card, the profile and the points; an administrator can read the routine's reason.
"Voucher #... not found." / "Pick the new status."
- Why
- The entry was removed, or no status was chosen.
- What to do
- Press F5 and try again.
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Customer Point Addition / Redemption / Cancellation screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
