1Overview #
Licence. Customer Card is a feature of Sales, bought on its own. Without it the card and renewal pages are not offered and the voucher types' Track Customer Card switch has no effect - Voucher Manager keeps it as it was set.
2How renewal works #
- A renewal never changes the card's issued expiry — it adds a row, and the card's effective validity is the latest renewal (falling back to the issued expiry when there is none). That is what the Valid To chip shows.
- The new expiry must be later than the current effective one; an earlier or equal date is refused by name.
- The new expiry defaults to one year past the current validity — change it freely before renewing.
- Removing a history row rolls the card's validity back to the previous renewal (or the issued expiry).
3Step by step #
Renewal extends a card's validity and keeps the history of each extension.
- Pick the card, enter the new validity period and any fee details, save with F5 .
- The card's validity updates and the renewal row joins its history.
4Why is a pick-list empty? #
- Customer Card — cards come from the Customer Card Details master; issue the card there first. Inactive cards are listed too (marked Inactive ) so a lapsed card can be renewed.
5Rules & integrity #
- Renewals belong to the card number: deleting a card removes its renewal history with it (cascade), which is why a card with loyalty-point transactions can't be deleted at all.
- The renewing user and date are recorded on every row.
6If something does not work #
"Pick the card to renew." / "Give the new expiry date."
- Why
- A renewal says which card, and until when.
- What to do
- Fill both.
"The new expiry must be later than the current one (...)."
- Why
- A renewal extends a card; it does not shorten it.
- What to do
- Give a date after the one shown.
"Renewal #... not found." / "Card #... not found."
- Why
- The renewal or the card was removed while you had it.
- What to do
- Press F2 and pick again.
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Customer Card Renewal screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
