1How to use it #
- Type in the search box to narrow by name, description, part number, group, sub-group, category or make — it filters as you type.
- Double-click a row (or select it and press Open / Modify , F4) to open the Product master on that item; Add Item (F3) opens a blank one.
- Closing the master refreshes the list, so a change you just made is visible immediately. Refresh (F2) re-reads it any time.
- Every column sorts, filters and groups — drag a column header into the group bar to see items grouped by, say, category.
2Step by step #
The browser answers 'what do we have?' faster than opening products one by one.
- Open the page — the list loads with its filter row ready.
- Type into the filters (name, group, brand…) to narrow; the grid narrows as you type.
- Pick a row and use the open action to jump to that product in the Product master when something needs changing.
3What the columns mean #
- Tax Class is the item's current class — the newest tax-class revision, falling back to the item's default when it has no revisions.
- Op. Stock / Op. Value are the opening figures from the item master, not live stock.
- Min. / Max. Stock and Reorder Level are the item's stock-level thresholds.
- Active shows No for inactive items — unlike pick-lists, the browser deliberately shows them so they can be found and reactivated.
4Which items appear? #
- Items shared with your branch — by the item's branch-visibility setting or an explicit branch allocation (group companies also see their member branches' items).
- If the company sets User can use shared products only , the list narrows further to the items allocated to you in Product Allocation to Users .
- The page needs the ProductBrowser tools permission; without it nothing is loaded and a notice is shown.
5Deleting an item #
- Delete removes the item from the item master after a confirmation — it cannot be undone.
- An item used by transactions, price lists, schemes or allocations is protected by the database and the delete will be refused; make it inactive in the Product master instead.
6If something does not work #
A product you expect is not listed
- Why
- The browser shows what your login may see - shared-product restrictions and your branch both cut the list - and the filters cut it further.
- What to do
- Clear the filters; ask an administrator about product allocation if a whole range is missing.
The list is slow, or shows a cap
- Why
- A large catalogue is windowed so the browser is not asked to draw everything at once.
- What to do
- Narrow with the filters rather than scrolling.
This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Product Browser screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
