1What this screen is for #
- Company settings are one row — the defaults every customer follows.
- Customer overrides record only what a customer does differently.
- Blank on an override means use the company setting . It is not the same as Off.
2Step by step #
Portal settings decide what customers can see and do — globally, with per-customer overrides on top.
- Set the global row first: which features are on, which voucher types portal orders and receipts post through.
- Add a per-customer row only where one account should differ from the global rule.
- Save with F5 ; the portal serves the merged result immediately.
3Before customers can sign in #
- The login needs Allow Customer Portal Login in the user master.
- The ledger account needs Has Login ID and that user.
- The login needs a branch grant, and products allocated to it — the portal shows only allocated items.
4Pricing #
- The portal quotes what the ORDER will be priced at, from the order voucher type's own pricing source, price type and party-rate flag.
- Change those in Voucher Manager, not here. The override on this screen changes only what the portal displays.
- Scheme and slab discounts that depend on quantity are named, not computed — the portal never shows a number the invoice would contradict.
5Rules and integrity #
- Ordering cannot be on without a Sales Order voucher type.
- Online payment cannot be on without a Receipt voucher type and a settlement ledger.
- Suspending a customer refuses their session at sign-in, not merely their buttons.
- Every switch is re-checked by the API before it acts — hiding a button is a courtesy, the refusal is the control.
6Shortcut keys #
- F3 — reload from the database.
- F5 — save the tab you are on.
- Esc — close the help panel.
7If something does not work #
"The minimum order value cannot be more than the maximum."
- Why
- The band is the wrong way round, so no order could ever fall inside it.
- What to do
- Correct the two figures; leave one blank for no limit at that end.
"... is not a valid email address."
- Why
- A notification address is malformed.
- What to do
- Correct it - portal notices go there.
A feature is switched on here but customers still cannot use it
- Why
- Each feature is checked twice: on for the company here, and allowed for that customer's own account.
- What to do
- Check the customer's account on Portal Users and Portal Product Access.
"Online ordering is not enabled for this company." reported by a customer
- Why
- The customer met the company-level switch.
- What to do
- Turn ordering on here.
