1What this screen is for #
- Menu path: Warehouse Management > My Tasks. Route /warehouse/my-tasks .
- Made for a phone or a handheld first, and works the same at a desk with a USB scanner.
- My tasks lists what is to do. Move moves stock between two bins on the spot. Enquiry shows what a bin holds or where an item is.
- This delivery works Move , Putaway and Pick tasks. A Putaway task is raised by the Receiving desk for each line received: from the receiving bin to the bin the putaway rules suggest (or any free bin when none passed the rules). A Pick task is raised by releasing a wave on the Wave Planner : from the bin allocated (oldest stock first) to the dispatch bin, for one order line. Counting comes later.
- A Pick has three steps: scan the bin, scan the item (its code or barcode, the lot's label where the line names a lot, or the pallet's label), confirm the quantity. There is no bin to scan at the end: the stock goes to the dispatch bin under the order's number. Less than asked is a short pick with a reason from the list; the rest is offered from the next bin that holds the item. Another bin that holds the item can be scanned at the start with the right for it, with a reason.
- Tasks are raised, given to people, re-ordered and cancelled on the Task Board .
2Doing a task, step by step #
- Pick the storage space . Your own tasks come first, then those offered to you - by priority, due time and walking order.
- Tap a task . It is now open on your name: nobody else can take it.
- Go to the From bin and "scan its label").
- Scan the item - its code, barcode or part number. Where the bin holds units by serial number, scan the serial number of each unit you take.
- Take it to the To bin and "scan its label").
- Check the quantity . For less than the task asks, lower it and give the reason.
- Press Confirm (F5) . The stock moves now, and the task leaves your list.
3Scanning #
- The scan box keeps the cursor . A handheld's scanner reads straight into it and moves the screen on; no tap is needed between tasks.
- The camera button reads a label with the phone's camera. It works on Android (Chrome, Edge) and on an iPhone (Safari). On an iPhone, and in Firefox, the first press loads a barcode reader once - it needs the network that one time.
- The camera needs a secure (https) address and your permission, asked once by the browser.
- The pencil button brings up the keyboard to type a code. What is typed is marked as typed in the task's history. It is shown only where WMS allow typed confirmation (#295) is Yes on WMS Settings.
- Every scan is answered: a short high sound and a short buzz for a right scan; two low sounds , a long double buzz and a red message for a wrong one.
- A wrong bin or a wrong item is refused and kept in the task's history as refused. Scan the right one.
- The bin comes first, then the item, then the bin it ends at.
4Let go, cannot do it, less than asked #
- Let go returns the task to where it was offered, for you or somebody else to take later. Nothing was moved.
- Cannot do it asks why, takes the task out of your hands and puts it on the Task Board as Not doable , where a supervisor gives it to somebody or cancels it.
- Less than asked : lower the quantity and give the reason, then Confirm. The task is finished for that quantity; the rest is not moved.
- A task opened and then left untouched for longer than WMS task claim minutes (#299, 15 as delivered) goes back by itself. Every scan starts the time again.
- Another bin than the task names is accepted only from a worker who holds the right for it (Execute on WMS - Tasks: Move); the task then shows both bins.
5Move and Enquiry #
- Move (F3) : scan the bin the stock is in, the item, then the bin it goes to; set the quantity; press Move. The stock moves at once.
- A move on the spot is kept as a confirmed task with its scans, so it reads in the history and on the Task Board like any other.
- A serial number scanned as the item moves that one unit, and the serial register follows.
- Enquiry (F4) : scan a bin to see every item in it; scan an item (or a serial number) to see every bin that holds it, in walking order, with the total.
- An enquiry only reads. It needs the network.
6Where nothing is scanned #
- A storage space with no labels on its bins and goods is worked without scanning. An administrator sets it on the Warehouse master, block Run by the WMS: Working method = Confirm on screen. This screen then says confirm where it says scan .
- The bin : each bin carries a two-digit check code , written or painted on it. Go to the bin the task names, type the code in the box and press Enter. A wrong code is refused - it means you are standing at another bin. Where the storage space does not check the bin, tap I am at bin ... instead.
- The item : tap This is ... ; or, where the storage space says so, choose the item from the list of what the bin holds - on a pick the list is by name, on putaway, move and replenish the item the task is for stands first, marked suggested . A wrong choice is refused. Where the storage space checks the item by its code, type the code.
- Serial numbers are always typed, unit by unit, each followed by Enter.
- Every step done this way is kept in the task's history as no scan , with how it was done. A label that does exist can still be scanned.
- Move (F3) follows the same method: type the bin's code, then its check code; tap the item in the list of what the bin holds; type the second bin's code and its check code; press Move.
- A second person : for costly stock the storage space can ask for one - a class A item, or a line worth a set amount or more. Confirm is then refused until a colleague has looked at the goods and pressed Second check , typing the task's number as your screen shows it. You cannot check your own task. A move on the spot cannot wait for a second person: it is raised as a Move task on the Task Board instead.
- With no network, a step confirmed on the screen is not kept on the phone: confirm it again when the network is back.
7Beside the work, on a wide screen #
- On a desk screen, or a tablet turned sideways, two panels stand to the right of the task or the move. On a phone the same panels follow below the work.
- Steps lists what is to be scanned, in order. The step to do now is marked; a step done is green with a tick. Its heading repeats what the screen asks for next.
- About this task (a task): who raised it and when, who it is offered to, its priority and due time, how much of the item the From bin holds free, how many units it holds by serial number, and how long the task may stay untouched before it goes back.
- In the bin (Move): what the bin scanned first holds free to move, item by item, as read when it was scanned - so the item and the quantity can be checked before anything moves. The item scanned is marked green. Scanned without the network, the list cannot be read and says so.
- The panels only show; nothing in them is tapped. The task list and the lines of an enquiry run as cards across the width.
8When the network drops #
- A task already open can still be scanned and confirmed. The scans are checked on the phone against the task's own codes.
- The confirmation is kept on the phone and shown under Kept on this phone . It is sent by itself when the network is back; Send now tries at once.
- A confirmation is sent once : even if the phone sends it twice, the server moves the stock once.
- If the server refuses a kept confirmation - the bin no longer holds the stock, the task was given to somebody else - it stays in the list with the reason. Nothing was moved for it. Press Drop it after reading.
- Not possible without the network: opening a new task, an enquiry, scanning a serial number, taking another bin than the task names.
- What is kept is kept in this browser, for this user and company . Do not clear the browser's data or sign out before it is sent.
9Toolbar & keyboard #
- My tasks (F2) reads the list again; from a task, Move or Enquiry it goes back to the list.
- Move (F3) , Enquiry (F4) .
- F5 confirms the open task, or the move.
- Esc goes back to the list; on the list it closes the page. A task left this way stays open on your name until its time runs out - use Let go to free it at once.
10Rules #
- Nothing moves in the bins before a task is confirmed. Raising, opening and scanning change no stock.
- One task, one worker: a task open on somebody's name is offered to nobody else.
- A bin that is Blocked or being counted gives no stock; a bin that is not Active takes none.
- Units the serial register names in a bin leave it only by their serial number.
- Rights, in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Tasks: Move : View lists its tasks, Alter works them, Create moves on the spot, Execute takes another bin.
- Only storage spaces run by the WMS have tasks.
11If something does not work #
"... is not run by the WMS - it has no bins to work in." / the storage space is not in the list
- Why
- Tasks move stock between bins; only a storage space switched to the WMS has bins that hold stock.
- What to do
- Switch the storage space on in the block Run by the WMS of the Warehouse master.
"You do not hold the right to see tasks of any kind. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the objects WMS - Tasks." / the list is empty though the Task Board shows tasks
- Why
- The list shows only the kinds of task you hold View or Alter for, and only tasks that are yours, offered to a user group you are in, or offered to anyone.
- What to do
- An administrator ticks View and Alter on WMS - Tasks: Move for you. If the task is offered to a group, check that you are in it (Admin > User Group).
"No task waits for you"
- Why
- Nothing is given to you or offered to you in this storage space - or the tasks are in another storage space.
- What to do
- Pick the other storage space; ask the supervisor to raise or give the task on the Task Board; or use Move for a move you see the need for yourself.
A task I opened is no longer first in my list / shows no longer as open on my name
- Why
- A task opened and then left without a scan or a confirmation for longer than WMS task claim minutes (#299, 15 as delivered) goes back to where it was offered.
- What to do
- Tap it again to open it. An administrator can lengthen the time on WMS Settings, group Tasks.
"You do not hold the right to work Move tasks. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Tasks: Move (Alter)."
- Why
- Opening, scanning and confirming a task ask for the Alter right on that kind of task.
- What to do
- An administrator ticks Alter on WMS - Tasks: Move for you in User Manager.
"T-... has been taken by .... Pick another task."
- Why
- Somebody opened the task a moment before you. One task is worked by one person.
- What to do
- Pick another task; the list has been read again.
"T-... is with ... now. Open the list again." / "T-... is no longer open on your name - it was left untouched too long, or it was given to somebody else. Open it again from the list."
- Why
- While the task was open on your screen its time ran out, or the supervisor gave it to somebody else on the Task Board.
- What to do
- Go back to the list. If the task is still offered to you, tap it again and scan from the start.
"T-... is already Confirmed. Open the list again." / "T-... is already Cancelled. Open the list again."
- Why
- The task was finished or cancelled while it was on your screen - often a confirmation kept on the phone that was sent in the meantime.
- What to do
- Nothing to do; read the list again.
"T-... was reported as not doable and waits on the Task board." / "T-... is not offered to you - it is ..."
- Why
- The task is not one you may open: it waits for the supervisor's decision, or it is given or offered to somebody else.
- What to do
- Ask the supervisor to give it to you on the Task Board.
"That task no longer exists. Open the list again."
- Why
- The list on the screen is older than the database.
- What to do
- Press My tasks (F2).
"Nothing was scanned." / "That is not a bin label or a material code."
- Why
- The scan box was empty when Enter came, or what was read is longer than any label (100 characters).
- What to do
- Scan the label again.
"Typing a code is switched off for this company (WMS Settings, Scanning). Scan the label." / "Typing a code is switched off (WMS Settings, Scanning). Scan the label."
- Why
- WMS allow typed confirmation (#295) is No: a code is taken only from a scanner or the camera. A code keyed slowly into the box counts as typed.
- What to do
- Scan the label. An administrator can allow typing on WMS Settings; what is typed is then marked as typed in the task's history.
"'...' is not the check code of bin .... Read the code written on the bin you are standing at - if it is another code, you are at another bin." / "Type the check code written on bin ...."
- Why
- The storage space is worked without scanning (Warehouse master, Run by the WMS, Working method = Confirm on screen) and checks the bin by its code. Each bin carries a two-digit check code, written or painted on it; what was typed is not the code of the bin the task names.
- What to do
- Look at the code on the bin in front of you. If it is not the one you typed, type it again; if the bin shows another code than the screen accepts, you are standing at the wrong bin - go to the bin the task names. An administrator prints the codes from the Warehouse master (Bin check codes).
"Bin ... has no check code yet - it was made after the codes were given. An administrator opens Bin check codes on the Warehouse master (block Run by the WMS): that gives every bin its code."
- Why
- The bin was created after the storage space's check codes were given out, so it carries none. A worker's task never changes the bin master, so the code is not made up on the spot.
- What to do
- An administrator opens Masters > Warehouse, the storage space, block Run by the WMS, and presses Bin check codes. The list gives the new bin its code; write it on the bin.
"This storage space works by scanning (Warehouse master, Run by the WMS, Working method). Scan the label."
- Why
- A step was confirmed on the screen, but the storage space's working method is Scan labels - it was changed back while the task was open.
- What to do
- Scan the bin and the item. Open the list again (F2) so the screen follows the storage space's method.
"Type the code of ... in the box - this storage space checks the item (Warehouse master, Run by the WMS)."
- Why
- Check the item by its code is on for this storage space: a tap is not taken for the item.
- What to do
- Type the item's code, barcode number or part number in the box and press Enter.
"A serial number is typed or scanned, unit by unit - it cannot be confirmed on the screen."
- Why
- Units held by serial number leave a bin only by their serial numbers, also where nothing is scanned.
- What to do
- Type the serial number of each unit taken, each followed by Enter.
"No bin is suggested for this task: type the code of the bin the stock goes into."
- Why
- A putaway task for which the rules found no bin: the worker finds a bin, and the system has to be told which.
- What to do
- Type the bin's code (for example REG-A-01-1-A) in the box and press Enter.
"This move needs a second person - .... A move on the spot cannot wait for one: raise it as a Move task on the Task Board; the worker does it on My Tasks and a colleague gives the Second check."
- Why
- Move (F3) moves the stock at once, and the storage space asks for a second person on this item (class A, or the line's value). A move on the spot has no moment in which a colleague could check it.
- What to do
- A supervisor raises a Move task on the Task Board. The worker does it on My Tasks; a colleague presses Second check (My Tasks or the Task Board) and types the task's number; then the worker confirms.
"There is no task '...' in this storage space. Type the number as the worker's screen shows it, for example T-18." / "Type the number of the task you have checked, for example T-18."
- Why
- Second check on My Tasks finds the task by its number, in the storage space picked at the top of the screen.
- What to do
- Type the number shown at the top of the colleague's task. Check that the same storage space is picked on your screen.
"T-... belongs to a storage space that is not worked from paper lists (Warehouse master, Run by the WMS, Working method). It is done on My Tasks."
- Why
- Confirm from paper is for a storage space whose working method is Paper lists. The method was changed after the board was opened.
- What to do
- Refresh the Task Board. In a storage space that scans or confirms on screen, the worker does the task on My Tasks.
"... is held by serial number in bin ...: the units taken must be named. Do T-... on My Tasks, typing each serial number."
- Why
- Units held by serial number leave a bin only by their serial numbers, and a paper list cannot say which units were taken.
- What to do
- Open the task on My Tasks and type the serial number of each unit, then confirm it there.
"No bin was suggested for T-...: type the code of the bin the stock was put in."
- Why
- A putaway task for which the rules found no bin: the worker chose one and wrote it on the list, and the desk has to type it.
- What to do
- Type the bin's code in Bin the stock was put in, then confirm.
"T-... is open with .... It is confirmed by him, or after he lets it go."
- Why
- Somebody has the task open on My Tasks.
- What to do
- Ask him to confirm it or to press Let go, then confirm it from the paper.
"Less was done than the task asks: say why." / "The task asks for .... More cannot be confirmed - a second task is raised for the rest." / "The quantity done cannot be below zero."
- Why
- Confirm from paper checks the quantity written on the list against what the task asks.
- What to do
- Type the quantity the paper says, never more than asked; when it is less, give the reason.
"Choose the item from the list of what is in bin ...."
- Why
- The storage space has Choose the item from a list on: the item is not confirmed by one button - the worker picks it from what the bin holds.
- What to do
- Tap the item you are handling in the list under the box. On a pick the list is by name; on putaway, move and replenish the item the task is for stands first.
"A second person must check T-... before it is confirmed - it is a class A item." / "... - the line is worth ... or more."
- Why
- The storage space is worked without scanning and asks for a second person on costly stock (Warehouse master, Run by the WMS: Second person for class A items, Second person from a line value of). Nothing has moved.
- What to do
- Ask a colleague to look at the goods, open the Task Board, pick the task and press Second check. Then press Confirm again. The colleague needs the right to work that kind of task, or the Task Board's Alter right.
"The person doing the task cannot be its second check. Ask a colleague to press Second check." / "T-... is .... A second check is given while somebody is doing the task - after he has opened it, before he confirms it."
- Why
- Second check was pressed by the worker himself, or on a task nobody has open. The check is the word of another person, given while the task is being done.
- What to do
- Somebody else presses Second check, after the worker has opened the task on My Tasks and before he confirms it.
"No network: this step is confirmed when it is back. Try again then."
- Why
- A step confirmed on the screen, or by check code, is checked by the server; it is not kept on the phone while the network is away.
- What to do
- Wait for the network and tap or type again. Nothing has moved.
"Scan bin ... first - the bin the task starts at." / "Scan ... first."
- Why
- The steps go in order: the bin the stock is in, the item, the bin it goes to.
- What to do
- Scan what the message names.
"'...' is not a bin of this storage space. Scan the bin's label." / "... is a bin of ..., not of this storage space."
- Why
- At a bin step, what was read is not the label or code of a bin of this storage space.
- What to do
- Scan the label on the bin itself.
"That is bin .... The task starts at bin ...." / "That is not bin ..., where the task starts."
- Why
- You are at another bin than the one the task takes the stock from. The scan is refused and kept in the history as refused.
- What to do
- Go to the bin shown in large type under From bin and scan it. If that bin is empty or cannot be reached, press Cannot do it.
"'...' is not an item's code, barcode or part number. The task is for ...." / "That is .... The task is for ...." / "That is not .... (A serial number cannot be checked while the network is away.)"
- Why
- What was read is not the item of the task: another item, or a code the Product master does not know.
- What to do
- Scan the item the task names - its product code, standard barcode or part number. A missing barcode is added on the Product master.
"Serial number ... is not in bin ... for ...." / "Serial number ... has already been scanned on this task. A serial number is one unit." / "The task asks for ... - that many serial numbers are already scanned."
- Why
- A serial number is one unit: it must be one the serial register holds in the From bin, it counts once, and no more serials are taken than the task asks units.
- What to do
- Scan the serial number of each unit you take, once. Bin Stock lists the serial numbers a bin holds.
"That is bin ..., where the stock already is. The task ends at bin ...." / "That is bin .... The task ends at bin .... Putting it in another bin needs the right for it." / "That is not bin ..., where the task ends. Another bin cannot be taken while the network is away."
- Why
- The bin scanned last is not the bin the task ends at. Another bin is taken only from a worker who holds Execute on WMS - Tasks: Move - and only with the network, because the server must check that bin.
- What to do
- Take the stock to the bin shown under To bin and scan it. If it cannot go there, press Cannot do it and say why - or ask for the right.
"Bin ... is ...: stock is moved into a bin that is Active." / "Bin ... is Blocked: nothing leaves it until that ends." / "Bin ... is Counting: nothing leaves it until that ends."
- Why
- A bin that is Blocked or being counted gives no stock, and a bin that is not Active takes none.
- What to do
- Wait until the count ends or the bin is unblocked (Bin Master), or press Cannot do it.
"Bin ... instead of ... - the task will say so. Check the quantity and confirm."
- Why
- You hold the right to put the stock in another bin, and scanned one. Not an error: the task keeps both bins.
- What to do
- Confirm - or scan the task's own bin to go back to it.
Confirm (F5) is greyed out / "Scan bin ... - the bin the task starts at." / "Scan ...." / "Scan bin ... - the bin the task ends at."
- Why
- A task is confirmed only after all three scans: the bin it starts at, the item, the bin it ends at.
- What to do
- Make the scans the chips still ask for.
"The quantity moved must be above zero. If nothing could be moved, press Cannot do it." / "The task asks for .... ... is more than that - a second task is raised for the rest."
- Why
- A confirmation is for some of the task's quantity, never for none and never for more.
- What to do
- Give the quantity really moved. For more, the supervisor raises another task, or use Move.
"... is less than the ... the task asks for. Say why." / "... Say why in Reason." / "The reason can't exceed 200 characters."
- Why
- Less than asked is allowed, with a reason of up to 200 characters.
- What to do
- Fill Reason for moving less, then Confirm.
"Bin ... holds ... free of ...; ... cannot leave it."
- Why
- Since the task was raised the bin has given stock to something else: it no longer holds what the task asks.
- What to do
- Count what is there. Confirm for that quantity with a reason, or press Cannot do it.
"...: bin ... holds ... unit(s) of it by serial number .... ... unit(s) are taken without a serial number - scan or pick the serial number of each ...."
- Why
- The serial register names units of the item in the From bin. Those leave it only by their serial number, and the task takes more units than the bin holds without one.
- What to do
- Scan the serial number of each registered unit you take, then Confirm.
"... The task is not confirmed - nothing has moved."
- Why
- A scan made while the network was away was refused by the server when the confirmation was sent.
- What to do
- The task is still open: scan again as the message says, then Confirm.
"Say why the task cannot be done - the Task Board shows it to whoever decides what happens next."
- Why
- Cannot do it needs a reason.
- What to do
- Type the reason and press OK.
"T-... let go. Nothing was moved." / "T-... reported as not doable. It waits on the Task board. Nothing was moved." / "T-... confirmed. ... moved from ... to ...."
- Why
- Not an error: what was done.
- What to do
- Nothing to do.
"The barcode reader for this browser could not be loaded (no network just now?). Use a handheld scanner, or type the code where typing is allowed."
- Why
- Chrome and Edge on Android read barcodes themselves. Safari on an iPhone, and Firefox, do not: for them the application loads its own reader the first time the camera button is pressed, and that load failed - the network was away, or the file lib/zxing/zxing-library-0.21.3.min.js is missing from the published site.
- What to do
- Press the camera button again where there is a signal. If it never loads, an administrator checks that the lib/zxing folder was published with the application.
"This browser cannot read barcodes with the camera." / the camera shows the picture but reads nothing
- Why
- The reader could not start on this device, or the label is too small, too far, badly lit or reflecting. The reader for an iPhone is slower than a handheld scanner and wants the label to fill a good part of the picture.
- What to do
- Hold the label steady, a hand's width from the lens, in good light. For many scans a day use a handheld with a built-in scanner or a Bluetooth scanner.
"The camera cannot be used on this page. It needs a secure (https) address."
- Why
- A browser gives a page the camera only over https (or on the computer itself).
- What to do
- Open the application by its https address.
"The camera was not allowed, or there is none. Allow the camera for this site in the browser, then try again." / "The camera could not be started on this device."
- Why
- The browser's question about the camera was answered No, the device has no camera, or another application is using it.
- What to do
- In the browser's site settings allow the camera for this site, then press the camera button again.
There is no sound or no vibration on a scan
- Why
- The phone is on silent or the browser has not been touched yet (a browser plays no sound before the first tap); an iPhone does not vibrate for a web page.
- What to do
- Turn the media volume up and tap the page once. The colour and the words of the message say the same as the sound.
The on-screen keyboard does not come up in the scan box
- Why
- On purpose: a scanner needs no keyboard, and the keyboard would cover half the screen.
- What to do
- Press the pencil button to type a code (shown only where typing is allowed).
"There is no network just now: the list is as it was last read. A task already open can still be scanned and confirmed - it is sent when the network is back." / the chip No network
- Why
- The phone could not reach the server.
- What to do
- Carry on with the open task. Move to where the signal is; the screen sends what it kept by itself.
"No network: ... is kept on this phone and will be sent when the network is back. Do not sign out before it is sent."
- Why
- The confirmation could not be sent. It is kept in this browser, for this user and company, and shown under Kept on this phone.
- What to do
- Nothing to do. When the network is back it is sent; Send now tries at once.
"A confirmation kept on this phone was refused when it was sent - see Kept on this phone, below." / "Refused when sent: ..."
- Why
- When the kept confirmation reached the server it could not be done: the bin no longer holds the stock, the task was given to somebody else, its time ran out.
- What to do
- Read the reason. Nothing was moved for it - if the stock was physically moved, do it again from the list or with Move. Then press Drop it.
"Sent: ..." / "... kept confirmations sent. Last: ..."
- Why
- Not an error: what was kept has reached the server.
- What to do
- Nothing to do.
"There is no network just now - an enquiry reads the server."
- Why
- An enquiry cannot be answered from the phone alone.
- What to do
- Try again where there is a signal.
"You do not hold the right to move stock between bins on the spot. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Tasks: Move (Create)."
- Why
- Move asks for the Create right on Move tasks.
- What to do
- An administrator ticks Create on WMS - Tasks: Move for you.
"Bin ... is empty - there is nothing to move out of it." / "Bin ... does not hold ...." / "Bin ... holds ... of it free to move - ... is more than that."
- Why
- The bin scanned first does not hold the item, or not that much of it free.
- What to do
- Check the bin with Enquiry; scan the bin the stock is really in.
"That is ..., not a bin. ..." / "That is bin ..., not an item. ..." / "That is bin ..., where the stock already is."
- Why
- Move reads its scans in order: the bin the stock is in, the item, the bin it goes to.
- What to do
- Scan what the message under the box asks for. Start again clears the three scans.
"The bin to move from: ..." / "The bin to move to: ..." / "'...' is not an item's code, barcode or part number, nor a serial number in bin ...."
- Why
- A move kept while the network was away is checked by the server only when it is sent: one of its codes is not a bin of the storage space, or not an item.
- What to do
- Do the move again with the network.
"... moved from ... to .... Kept as T-...."
- Why
- Not an error: the stock has moved, and the move is on the Task Board as a confirmed task.
- What to do
- Nothing to do.
A task reads "find a bin" / "any free bin" / "No bin passed the putaway rules for this stock - put it in a free bin and scan that bin."
- Why
- A Putaway task raised by a receipt for which the putaway rules named no bin: every bin was full, of the wrong kind, or barred by its mixing rule.
- What to do
- Put the stock in a free Active bin and scan that bin; it is not an override and needs no reason. Check the zone's bins and the item's putaway class on Putaway Rules.
"That is bin .... The task ends at bin .... This storage space does not allow another bin than the one suggested (Putaway Rules, Allow another bin), and you do not hold the right for it."
- Why
- On a Putaway task another bin than the suggested one is taken only where the storage space's Putaway Rules allow it, or with the Execute right on WMS - Tasks: Putaway.
- What to do
- Scan the suggested bin; or an administrator switches Allow another bin on for the storage space, or grants Execute.
"Bin ... instead of ... - say why at Confirm; the task and the Putaway Overrides report will say so." / "The stock goes to bin ... instead of the suggested .... Say why in Reason - it is recorded, not refused."
- Why
- Another bin than the suggested one is allowed with a reason: the task's history keeps it as Override.
- What to do
- Type the reason in Reason and press Confirm.
Confirm refuses with the bin's rule: "... takes only ..." / "... holds another item" / "over its capacity ..." (the storage space's putaway checks)
- Why
- At Confirm a Putaway task meets the bin's kind, mixing and capacity rules as Putaway Rules set them for the storage space (Stop refuses; Warn is noted on the task).
- What to do
- Put the stock in a bin that passes, or an administrator changes the checks on Putaway Rules.
"A Putaway task cannot be raised by hand - only: Move. A Putaway task is raised by finishing a receipt on the Receiving desk."
- Why
- Putaway tasks come from receipts, not from the Task Board.
- What to do
- Finish the receipt on the Receiving desk; a Move task does for anything else.
"That is ... - but this task moves pallet ... as one piece: scan the pallet's label." / "'...' is not pallet ...'s label. The task is for that pallet (...)." / "That is pallet .... The task is for pallet ...."
- Why
- The task moves a whole pallet (its number is on the card): the material scan is the pallet's label, PLT-000123, not the item's barcode.
- What to do
- Scan the label on the pallet. Everything on it moves in one confirmation, and the pallet's bin follows.
"'...' is a pallet's label; this task moves loose stock of ... - scan the item."
- Why
- A pallet label was scanned on a task for loose stock.
- What to do
- Scan the item's barcode, code or part number; a pallet is moved by its own task, or by Move with its label.
"'...' is not a pallet's label." / "Pallet ... is closed (emptied) - nothing is on it to move." / "Pallet ... is in bin ..., not in ...."
- Why
- On Move: a pallet label that no pallet carries, an emptied pallet, or a pallet that is not in the bin scanned first.
- What to do
- Check the label and the bin: Enquiry with the label says where the pallet is.
A Pick task on the list: "wave W-... · Sales Order ..." / the card shows the dispatch bin as its end
- Why
- A Pick task is raised by releasing a wave on the Wave planner: from the bin allocated (oldest stock first) to the dispatch bin, for one order line. There is no bin to scan at the end - Confirm stages the stock in the dispatch bin under the order's number, where the Delivery Note made from the order takes it.
- What to do
- Scan the bin, scan the item, confirm the quantity.
"That is bin .... The task starts at bin ..., chosen so that the oldest stock leaves first. Picking from another bin needs the right for it."
- Why
- On a Pick task another bin than the one allocated is taken only with the Execute right on WMS - Tasks: Pick.
- What to do
- Go to the bin the task names; or an administrator grants Execute.
"Bin ... instead of ... - say why at Confirm; it is recorded. It holds ... free. Now scan ...." / "The stock is picked from bin ... instead of .... Say why in Reason - it is recorded, not refused."
- Why
- Another bin that holds the item is allowed with the right and a reason: the task's history keeps it as Override. The hold on the planned bin is let go; the other bin's free stock is checked at Confirm.
- What to do
- Type the reason in Reason and press Confirm pick.
"Bin ... holds none of ... free ...." / "That is the dispatch bin ... - nothing is picked from it." / "Bin ... is ...: nothing is picked from it." / "That is bin .... Pallet ... is in bin ... - the task picks that pallet."
- Why
- Another bin can be taken only when it is Active and holds the item free; never the dispatch bin; a pallet task is picked from the pallet's own bin.
- What to do
- Scan the bin the task names, or another Active bin that holds the item.
"That is ..., but the order line asks for lot ... - scan that lot's label." / "'...' is not lot ... of ..., which the task asks for."
- Why
- The order line names a lot (its TranID): the pick is from that lot only, confirmed by the lot's label.
- What to do
- Scan the label of that lot. A different lot is not the line's.
"Lot ... of ... - it will be written to the order line." / Noted: "Lot ... written to the order line." / "Lot ... NOT written to the order line: ..."
- Why
- An order line with no lot picked by a lot's label gets that lot written on it (the owner's rule, as the Picking screen does) - unless the line is linked to a later voucher, the voucher is locked beyond your right, or the line already carries a lot.
- What to do
- Nothing to do; the note says what happened.
"'...' is a lot of another item. The task is for ...." / "'...' is not an item's code, barcode, part number or lot. The task is for ...."
- Why
- The code read is a lot label of another item, or nothing the system knows.
- What to do
- Scan the item's barcode, code or part number, or the lot's label.
"A pick ends with Confirm, not a bin scan: the stock goes to the dispatch bin ... under the order's number."
- Why
- A bin was scanned after the item on a Pick task; a pick has no bin at the end.
- What to do
- Check the quantity and press Confirm pick.
"The task asks for .... ... is more than that - the order asks for no more; never over-pick."
- Why
- A pick is never more than the task asks: the task is what the order line still asks for.
- What to do
- Confirm the quantity asked; the order is amended on the voucher screen if more is wanted.
"Nothing picked: say why (a short pick of zero), or press Cannot do it." / "A short pick's reason is one of the list, or your own words up to 60 characters."
- Why
- Less than asked is a short pick with a reason - from the list (Not enough in the bin, Damaged, Cannot find the rest, Another item is in the bin, Other) or your own words. Zero is allowed with a reason.
- What to do
- Pick the reason and press Confirm pick.
"... short." / "... still to pick: n task(s) raised from the next bin(s)." / "... could not be allocated elsewhere and stays pending on the order. ..."
- Why
- After a short pick the rest is offered from the next bin that holds the item (a new Pick task, on the same wave); what no bin can give stays short on the wave line and pending on the order.
- What to do
- Work the new task if one was raised; otherwise the manager sees the shortage on the Wave planner.
A Pick task that cannot be done keeps its hold on the bin
- Why
- Cannot do it sends the task to the Task Board as Not doable; the stock stays allocated to it until the board re-offers or cancels it (then the hold goes).
- What to do
- The supervisor gives the task to somebody or cancels it on the Task Board / Exceptions.
"'...' is not a bin of this storage space, nor an item's code, barcode, part number or serial number."
- Why
- The code is known neither as a bin nor as an item nor as a serial number of this storage space.
- What to do
- Check the storage space picked on the list; scan the label again.
"Bin ... is empty." / "No bin of this storage space holds ...."
- Why
- Not an error: the answer.
- What to do
- Nothing to do.
