1What this screen is for #
- Menu path: Warehouse Management > Picking. Route /warehouse/picking .
- Lists the vouchers of the storage space picked that stock is still to be picked for, each marked order or issued .
- Picks for one or several of them as one entry , line by line, checked against the vouchers: the right material, never more than is pending, never more than the bin holds.
- A voucher can be picked in parts . It stays in the list - showing only what is left - until nothing of it is pending. Entries shows the entries submitted and cancels one.
- Made for a phone or handheld first, and works the same at a desk with a USB scanner. The scan box keeps the cursor.
- The books are not touched: a voucher is still what changes stock. Picking only says which bin the stock leaves.
2Which vouchers are picked for #
- order - a Sales Order, a Production Order, or an order of the StockType Order-IN (a Job Order set up so), of a type that moves no stock. It moves no stock. The pick takes the stock from its bin and stages it in the dispatch bin, still the company's stock. The delivery or invoice made from the order (Linked Transactions) then takes it out of the dispatch bin. To pick = what the order still asks for, less what is already staged for it.
- issued - any stock-affecting outward voucher - a Job Order of a type that moves stock among them - or a stock transfer out of the storage space. It took the stock out of the books at once, from the dispatch bin, which went below zero: issued, bin not confirmed. The pick says which bin really gave it.
- An order belongs to the storage space its lines or its header name. An order that names none is offered in every storage space open to its branch; what is staged for it anywhere counts everywhere.
- Of a Production Order the materials are picked, not the item it makes.
- An order line that is closed short, or delivered in full, asks for nothing more. Closing short stops only an ORDER: a Delivery Note or other stock voucher line closed short is still picked, because its stock did leave the books.
- An order is picked ahead only when its voucher type's Use WMS Bins (Voucher Manager) is switched on. With Off - the default - it is not listed here: the delivery made from it is picked once that is saved, as issued .
- A stock voucher is listed only when ITS type's Use WMS Bins is switched on, and only for what left from the dispatch bin: a line that named its bin on the voucher, or had one chosen by the type's Default Bin Rule, has taken its stock from that bin already and needs no picking. With Off the warehouse ignores the type: its vouchers take nothing from any bin and are never listed.
- In a chain - Sales Order > Delivery Note > Outward Supply - the warehouse works on the voucher that moves the stock: the Delivery Note (issued), or the Sales Order ahead of it (order). The bill made from the Delivery Note must not move stock again; its voucher type does not affect stock, so it is never picked.
- A cancelled voucher line (Cancel line on the voucher, quantity 0) asks for nothing; what was staged or issued for it comes back to the dispatch dock to be moved back to a bin.
3Step by step #
- Pick the storage space. Its pending vouchers are listed - and only its own.
- Tick the voucher(s) to pick for - on a phone open Vouchers to pick for ; at a desk click their cards. Every line of them becomes a task , taken in the walking order of the bins.
- The task card says Go to bin , in large type. Go there and scan the bin's label : the card answers Bin scanned .
- Scan the item you take out. The card answers Item scanned and fills the quantity.
- Check the quantity - − and + change it by one - and press Confirm pick (F4) . The next task comes up.
- Where the bin does not hold enough, confirm what it holds: the task stays, and the rest is scanned out of another bin.
- Press Submit (F5) and confirm - when every task is done, or earlier to pick a part. What is confirmed leaves its bins; what is still Left stays pending.
4Short pick, Skip and choosing a line #
- Short pick - less is there than the task asks for and no more will be found now. Give the quantity found and pick the reason from the list. The pick is kept with its reason; the task is not asked for again in this entry, and the rest stays pending on the voucher.
- Skip - leave the task for later: it goes behind the others and comes round again. Nothing is recorded.
- A material may be scanned before its task comes up : the screen goes to that task.
- Where the code scanned stands for several pending lines - the same item on two vouchers, or in two lots - a list opens and you choose the line the pick is for. The task in hand is taken without asking when it is one of them.
5Which bin to pick from #
- Only a bin that holds the item free - and the batch the voucher names - can give it. A bin is never taken below zero by a pick.
- The bin named on the task: the item's pick bin (Item Warehouse Settings); else the first bin holding it in walking order ; stock still in the receiving bin comes last - it is better put away first.
- Bins that hold it lists the others; how many are shown is the company's Suggested bins shown on WMS Settings.
- Any other bin that holds the item may be scanned instead; the line is marked (other) and recorded as another bin than offered.
- A Blocked bin, a bin being counted and an Inactive bin give nothing. The dispatch bin is where the stock goes, never where it is picked from.
- What the picks already confirmed in this entry take out of a bin is counted: the same stock cannot be scanned twice.
6How a material is checked against the voucher #
- A voucher line always names its item; its TranID may be blank. The code scanned is looked for in this order of preference:
- 1. the TranID of a lot - the label printed when the stock was received (price table) - or the TranID of a voucher line;
- 2. the standard barcode of an item (Product master);
- 3. a serial number of an item;
- 4. the item code chosen on a voucher line;
- 5. any item code of an item;
- 6. the part number of an item.
- The first that names a pending line of the ticked vouchers decides.
- A line that carries a TranID is picked from that lot: another lot of the same item is refused, and never more than is pending of that TranID.
- A line with no TranID is matched by its item. When it is picked by a lot's label, that TranID is written onto the voucher line on Submit - and onto the earlier picks of the line. A line takes one lot : another lot of it is refused. The TranID is not written where the line is already linked to a later voucher, or the voucher is locked and you may not alter it - the lot is then kept with the pick and the message says why. Cancelling the entry puts the blank back.
- The item's name and its product code are not scanning codes. A serial number is one unit and is accepted once in an entry.
- A code that matches nothing of the ticked vouchers is refused : the message is shown and the scan in hand is discarded. Picks already confirmed stay.
- The server reads every code again when the entry is submitted.
7Entries, and cancelling one #
- Entries lists the entries submitted for the storage space, newest first, with their vouchers.
- Pick an entry, say why, and press Cancel this entry . Its stock goes back from the dispatch bin to the bins it was picked from and is to pick again. A TranID it wrote onto a voucher line is blank again - unless another entry still picks that lot for the line. Other entries of the same voucher are not touched.
- Nothing is deleted: a cancelled entry stays in the list, marked Cancelled, and the bin cards show the stock going out and coming back.
- An entry cannot be cancelled while a voucher made from what it picked waits for the warehouse (Voucher Manager -> Linked Transaction properties -> Warehouse Condition) and already holds it - a Delivery Note that took the 6 picked for its Sales Order, say. The refusal names the voucher; reduce or cancel it first.
- Stock picked for a voucher that no longer asks for it - an order closed short or cancelled, an outward voucher reduced - stands at the dispatch dock: the screen says how much, and it is moved back to a bin on Bin Stock.
8Toolbar & keyboard #
- Scan (F2) puts the cursor in the scan box.
- Every message of the screen - a refusal, a warning, a confirmation - appears right under the scan box , where the cursor is, and pulses when it appears.
- Confirm pick (F4) keeps the scan in hand - bin, item and quantity - as a line of the entry. Enter in the quantity does the same, and so does the wide button on the task. Submit is also under the picks of the entry - a phone has no function keys.
- Submit (F5) asks to confirm, with OK focused, and says what will stay pending.
- Cancel (Esc) forgets the scan in hand; with none in hand it discards the picks of the entry. It asks first. Nothing was moved. With nothing begun, Esc closes the page.
- Refresh reads the pending vouchers again; Entries opens the entries submitted.
- The storage space and the ticks are fixed once the first scan is in hand.
9Rules (why a pick or an entry is refused) #
- Only the storage spaces run by the WMS are offered, and only vouchers of the storage space picked can be picked for together.
- A voucher line takes one lot.
- Both scans are compulsory on every pick, and the material must be of the ticked vouchers.
- The bin must be of this storage space, not Blocked, Counting or Inactive, not the dispatch bin, and must hold the quantity free - of that item and that batch.
- Never more of a voucher line than is pending on it.
- Typing a code instead of scanning it follows the company's WMS Settings (Allow typed confirmation).
- Who may submit or cancel an entry: the Alter right on the object WMS - Bins , in User Manager.
- A voucher made from a picked one may be told to take only what is picked (Warehouse Condition): its save is refused beyond that, by the database, and an entry it relies on cannot be cancelled.
10If something does not work #
"No storage space open to this branch is run by the WMS. Switch one on in the block Run by the WMS of the Warehouse master." / the storage space list is empty
- Why
- This screen offers only the storage spaces run by the WMS that are open to the branch you signed in to, and there is none.
- What to do
- Switch a storage space on in the block Run by the WMS of the Warehouse master, or sign in to a branch it is open to.
"... TranID written to the voucher line: ..., ... - ...." (at the end of the submit message)
- Why
- A voucher line with no TranID was picked by a lot's label. Its TranID was written onto the voucher line - and onto the earlier picks of that line - so the voucher now names the lot that left the shelf.
- What to do
- Nothing to do. Cancelling the entry puts the blank back, unless another entry still picks that lot for the line.
"TranID not written - the lot is kept with the pick: ..., ... (the line is linked to a later voucher)" / "... (the voucher is locked and you hold no right to alter it)"
- Why
- The database does not let a voucher line be altered once a later voucher is made from it, nor a locked voucher by a user without the right to alter it. The pick is saved; the lot is kept with it, not on the line.
- What to do
- Nothing to do for the pick. If the voucher must carry the lot, an administrator unlocks it - or the right to alter it is granted - before the next pick.
"..., ...: a voucher line takes one lot - lots ... were scanned for it. Remove the picks of all but one." / "... for ... is picked from lot ... in this entry - a voucher line takes one lot. The scan was discarded." / "'...' is another lot of .... This line is picked from lot ... - a voucher line takes one lot. Not counted."
- Why
- A line with no TranID takes the TranID of the lot it is picked from, and a line carries one TranID. Two lots for the same line cannot both be written onto it.
- What to do
- Pick the line from the one lot. If the order really ships two lots, pick the rest from the same lot or split the line on the voucher first.
"... The TranID it had written is blank again on ... voucher line(s)." / "TranID ... stays on the voucher line (another entry still picks that lot for it)" / "... (the line is linked to a later voucher)"
- Why
- Cancelling an entry puts back the blank TranID it had written - unless another entry still picks that lot for the line, or the database would now refuse to alter the line.
- What to do
- Nothing to do. A TranID that stays is still the lot the other picks took.
"No order or outward voucher is waiting to be picked in this storage space." / "No voucher is waiting to be picked here." / the list is empty
- Why
- No Sales Order or Production Order that this storage space serves still asks for stock, and its dispatch bin is not below zero for any voucher: nothing has been saved for it since the last entry, or the vouchers have not reached the bins yet.
- What to do
- Save the order, or the outward voucher with its storage space, first. A voucher saved from the desktop reaches the bins when Bring the bins up to date is pressed on Bin Reconciliation.
An order is not in the list
- Why
- The list shows Sales Orders, Production Orders and orders of the StockType Order-IN (a Job Order set up so), of a type that moves no stock, that still ask for stock: not cancelled, not delivered in full, not closed short, and of this storage space - the one the order's lines or header name, or any storage space open to the order's branch where the order names none. Lines of items that do not affect stock are left out. A Job Order of a type that moves stock is listed once it is saved, as issued.
- What to do
- Check the order's storage space and branch, and that it is not already delivered or staged in full. Another kind of order is picked once its stock voucher is saved - it then shows as issued.
A voucher is marked "order" / "issued"
- Why
- order: a Sales Order, Production Order or Order-IN order (a Job Order set up so) that moves no stock - its stock is still in the books; a pick stages it in the dispatch bin for the voucher made from the order. issued: a voucher already took the stock out of the books, leaving the dispatch bin below zero; a pick says which bin gave it.
- What to do
- Pick for either in the same way.
The dispatch bin holds stock above zero after picking for an order
- Why
- That is the stock staged for the order. It leaves the dispatch bin when the delivery or invoice made from the order (Linked Transactions) is saved with this storage space.
- What to do
- Make the delivery from the order. If the stock voucher's type does not record a storage space, switch Enable Storage Space on for it in Voucher Manager.
"... is not run by the WMS, so nothing is waiting to be picked in it. Switch it on in the block Run by the WMS of the Warehouse master."
- Why
- Only a storage space switched to the WMS has a dispatch bin.
- What to do
- Load the storage space on the Warehouse master and switch it on in the block Run by the WMS.
"... has automatic allocation on: the system takes stock out of the bins that hold it as a voucher is saved. Orders, and what no bin could give, are pending here."
- Why
- The storage space is set to choose bins by itself, so its stock vouchers do not wait for an entry. Orders are still picked by scanning.
- What to do
- Nothing to do. To pick every voucher by scanning, switch Automatic allocation off on Putaway Rules.
"Stock standing at the dispatch dock that no voucher asks for any more - it was picked, and its voucher was then reduced, closed or cancelled: ... Move it back to a bin on Bin Stock."
- Why
- Stock was picked, and afterwards its voucher stopped asking for it: an order was closed short, reduced or cancelled, or an outward voucher was edited down or deleted. The stock stands in the dispatch bin.
- What to do
- On Bin Stock, move that quantity from the dispatch bin back to the bin it belongs in - or, if the picking entry itself was wrong, cancel it under Entries.
A voucher of another storage space is not in the list / the storage space cannot be changed
- Why
- The list shows the pending vouchers of the storage space picked, and only those - an entry never mixes two storage spaces. The storage space is fixed once scanning has begun.
- What to do
- Submit the entry in hand, or press Cancel (Esc) to discard its lines; then pick the other storage space.
"The vouchers are fixed once scanning has begun. Submit the entry, or press Cancel (Esc) to discard its lines, then change the selection." / Tick all and Untick all are greyed out
- Why
- The lines scanned belong to the vouchers that were ticked when scanning began.
- What to do
- Submit the entry, or discard its lines with Cancel (Esc), then tick or untick.
"Tick the voucher(s) to pick for first, then scan." / "Select the voucher(s) to pick for before scanning a material. The scan was discarded." / "Select the voucher(s) to pick for."
- Why
- A material is checked against the vouchers ticked, and none is.
- What to do
- Tick the voucher(s), then scan.
"Nothing was scanned." / "That is not a bin label or a material code."
- Why
- The scan box was empty, or held more than 100 characters.
- What to do
- Scan again. If a scanner reads several codes into one, check that it sends Enter after each.
"'...' matches nothing of the selected voucher(s) - no TranID, barcode, serial number, item code or part number of their items - and is not a bin of this storage space. The scan was discarded."
- Why
- The code was looked for among the lines of the ticked vouchers in the order TranID, standard barcode, serial number, the line's item code, an item code of the item, part number - and is none of them, nor a bin label here. An item's name and product code are not scanning codes. The scan in hand - material and bin - was thrown away; lines already added stay.
- What to do
- Check the label. Give the item its standard barcode or part number on the Product master.
"Typing a code is switched off for this company (WMS Settings): scan the label. Nothing was taken."
- Why
- WMS Settings has Allow typed confirmation (#295) switched to No, and the code arrived key by key instead of from a scanner. A code pasted whole, or sent by a scanner, is accepted.
- What to do
- Scan the label. If the label cannot be read, print it again - or an administrator switches #295 to Yes on Warehouse Management > Setup > WMS Settings.
"Serial number ... is scanned already in this entry. A serial number is one unit - scan the next one."
- Why
- The same serial number was read twice. Each serial number stands for one unit.
- What to do
- Scan the next unit.
"... is not on the selected voucher(s). The scan was discarded."
- Why
- The code names a known item, but no line of the ticked vouchers issues it.
- What to do
- Tick the voucher that issues it - it must be of the same storage space - or put the material back: it does not belong to this entry.
"... is a bin of ..., not of this storage space."
- Why
- The label belongs to a bin of another storage space.
- What to do
- Scan a bin of the storage space picked.
"... is scanned in full already: ... of .... The scan was discarded."
- Why
- Everything still pending of that item on the ticked vouchers is already on the lines of the entry.
- What to do
- Nothing more of it is to scan. If a line is wrong, Remove it and scan again.
"... of the selected voucher(s) is picked already - nothing of it is pending. The scan was discarded."
- Why
- The item belongs to the ticked voucher, but an earlier entry picked all of it. A voucher picked in parts takes only what is still pending.
- What to do
- Nothing of it is to scan. If the earlier entry was wrong, cancel it under Entries.
"... is scanned already. Type the quantity, or switch to Piece by piece to count the scans."
- Why
- In Box the material is scanned once; a second scan of it adds nothing.
- What to do
- Type the quantity - or pick Piece by piece in Quantity by, where each scan adds one.
"... of ... is left to pick; ... are scanned already." / "Bin ... gives ... of ...; ... are scanned already. Add the line and take the rest from another bin."
- Why
- Piece by piece: more units were scanned than the ticked vouchers issue, or than the bin holds.
- What to do
- Add the line with what is counted, and take the rest from another bin.
A dialog asks "Which line is this pick for?" / "No line was chosen: the scan was not taken."
- Why
- The code scanned stands for several pending lines of the ticked vouchers - the same item on two vouchers, or in two batches or lots - and the task in hand is not one of them.
- What to do
- Choose the line the pick is for. Cancel leaves the scan untaken.
"'...' is a lot of ..., but the selected voucher(s) ask for TranID .... Pick that lot. The scan was discarded."
- Why
- The label scanned is the TranID of a lot of the right item, but every pending line of that item carries another TranID. A line that carries a TranID is picked from that lot only.
- What to do
- Pick the lot the task names. If the voucher should not insist on a lot, clear the TranID on its line.
A lot's label is not recognised
- Why
- A lot is known by its TranID in the price table - created when the stock was received with a TranID. A label of a voucher that was never saved, or of another company, is not in it.
- What to do
- Scan the item's barcode instead, or check the receipt that printed the label.
"Bin ... holds none of ... free. The scan was discarded - scan a bin that holds it." / "Line ...: bin ... holds ... free of ...; ... cannot be picked from it." / "Bin ... holds ... free of ...; ... cannot be picked from it. Take what it holds and the rest from another bin."
- Why
- A bin gives only what it holds free of that item and that batch - a pick never takes a bin below zero. The bin scanned holds none of it, or less than the quantity.
- What to do
- Scan a bin listed under Bins that hold it, or take from this bin what it holds and the rest from another. If the stock really is in that bin, the bins are wrong: put the stock away or move it on Bin Stock first.
"Bin ... gives nothing more of ... - the lines of this entry already take all it holds. The scan was discarded."
- Why
- Earlier lines of the entry in hand already take everything the bin holds of the item.
- What to do
- Take the rest from another bin; or Remove the earlier line if it was wrong.
"No bin of this storage space holds ... free - it may still be at the receiving dock, or in a bin that is blocked or being counted. Put it away or move it first; the scan stays in hand." / "No bin of this storage space holds this item free ..."
- Why
- The books say the storage space issued the item, but no bin is recorded as holding it: it was never put away, the bins were not brought up to date, or its bin is Blocked or being counted.
- What to do
- Put the item away on Putaway, or move it into its bin on Bin Stock; unblock the bin on the Bin Master. Then scan again.
"Bin ... is not one of the bins offered. It holds the item, so it can be used - the line is recorded as another bin." / a line shows "(other)"
- Why
- A bin that holds the item, but was not among the bins offered, was scanned.
- What to do
- Go on if the stock was really taken from that bin; else Cancel (Esc) and scan an offered bin.
"Bin ... is the dispatch bin - the stock is going there. The scan was discarded - scan the bin it is taken from." / "Bin ... is the dispatch bin - the stock is going there. Scan the bin it is taken from."
- Why
- A pick moves stock out of a bin into the dispatch bin of the same storage space.
- What to do
- Scan the bin the stock was taken from.
"Bin ... is Blocked: nothing leaves it until that ends. The scan was discarded." (also Counting, Inactive)
- Why
- A blocked bin, a bin being counted and an Inactive bin give nothing out.
- What to do
- Pick from another bin, or unblock the bin on the Bin Master; a count ends the Counting status.
A bin is offered last, marked "At the receiving dock, not put away yet"
- Why
- The item was received and not put away. It can be picked from the receiving bin - cross-docking - but the storage bins are offered first.
- What to do
- Pick from a storage bin where one holds it; or scan the receiving bin to send the stock straight out.
"Scan the material that is picked." / "Scan the bin the stock is taken from." / "The quantity picked must be above zero."
- Why
- A pick needs a material, a bin and a quantity.
- What to do
- Scan what is missing - the task card says which - and give the quantity.
"... of ... is left to pick for ...; ... is more than is pending." / "..., ...: ... scanned, but only ... is pending. Remove what is over."
- Why
- More was picked of a voucher line than is still pending on it - counting what earlier entries already picked, and for an order what is already staged or delivered.
- What to do
- Give no more than Left shows on the line's row; Remove the pick that is over.
"Piece by piece counts one a scan: ... scan(s) were made, the quantity says .... Scan again, or switch to Box and type the quantity." / "Line ..., ...: piece by piece counts one a scan - ..."
- Why
- In Piece by piece the quantity is the number of scans, and the two do not agree.
- What to do
- Press Cancel (Esc) and scan the units again, or switch to Box and type the quantity.
"Pick confirmed. ..." / "Line removed: ... of ... is to pick again."
- Why
- The scan in hand became a line of the entry, or a line was taken out. Nothing is moved until the entry is submitted.
- What to do
- Go on with the next task.
Confirm pick (F4) and Short pick are greyed out
- Why
- A pick needs both scans: the bin and the item.
- What to do
- Scan what the task card still asks for - Scan this bin, or Scan the item.
"Bin ... holds none of ... free. Scan the item you take from it - or go to ...."
- Why
- The bin scanned does not hold the item of the task in hand. It stays in hand, because another item of the ticked vouchers may be what is taken from it.
- What to do
- Scan the item you are taking from that bin - the screen goes to its task - or go to the bin the task names.
"Enter the quantity found, above zero. If nothing was found, close this and press Skip." / "... is all that is left of the task - that is not a short pick. Close this and press Confirm pick." / "Pick the reason of the short pick." / "Line ..., ...: pick the reason of the short pick from the list."
- Why
- A short pick records LESS than the task asks for, with a reason from the list.
- What to do
- Give the quantity really taken and choose the reason; for the full quantity use Confirm pick, for nothing use Skip.
"Short pick recorded: ... of ... (...). ... stays pending on ...."
- Why
- The pick is kept with its reason. The task is not asked for again in this entry; what was not found stays pending on the voucher for a later entry.
- What to do
- Go on with the next task. Remove the line to undo it.
"Skipped ... - it comes round again after the others." / "... is the only task left."
- Why
- Skip puts the task behind the others. Nothing is recorded.
- What to do
- Do the other tasks; the skipped one comes up again. Submit without it to leave it pending.
"Nothing has been picked yet. Scan the bin an item is taken from and the material, and press Confirm pick." / Submit (F5) is greyed out
- Why
- An entry needs at least one confirmed pick.
- What to do
- Scan a bin and a material of the ticked vouchers and press Confirm pick (F4).
"A scan is in hand. Press Confirm pick (F4) to keep it, or Cancel (Esc) to forget it."
- Why
- A material or a bin has been scanned and not yet confirmed as a pick.
- What to do
- Press Confirm pick (F4), or Cancel (Esc).
A voucher is still in the pending list after its entry was submitted
- Why
- It was picked in part: the entry took what was scanned, and what was Left stays pending on the voucher.
- What to do
- Tick it again and scan the rest - only what is still pending is shown and accepted.
"Line ...: that item is not pending on the voucher it names - it is not that voucher's, or it is picked already."
- Why
- A pick names a voucher line of which nothing is pending: it was never that voucher's, the voucher is not ticked, or another entry picked it between the scan and the submit.
- What to do
- Press Refresh, Remove the pick, and scan what is still pending.
"Voucher ... has nothing waiting to be picked in this storage space - it was picked already, cancelled, or belongs to another storage space. Press Refresh."
- Why
- Between ticking the voucher and submitting, someone else picked it or cancelled it.
- What to do
- Press Refresh; the list shows what is still pending.
"Line ...: the material scanned is ..., not ...." / "Line ..., ...: the bin scanned (...) is not the bin of the line. Scan the bin again." / "Line ..., ...: '...' is not a bin of this storage space. Scan the bin's label." / "Line ..., ...: '...' is a bin, not a material. Scan the material." / "Line ..., ...: scan the bin the stock is taken from." / "Line ..., ...: scan the material that is picked."
- Why
- The server reads both codes of every line again when the entry is submitted, and one no longer names what the line shows - a label or a voucher was changed meanwhile, or the request was altered.
- What to do
- Remove that line and scan it again.
"Bin ... holds ... free of ...; ... cannot leave it." on Submit
- Why
- A bin no longer holds what the entry takes out of it: someone else picked or moved it since the bins were read.
- What to do
- Remove the line and scan the item again - the bins that hold it now are shown.
"Picking entry ... submitted: ... picked in ... line(s) for .... Nothing of the voucher(s) is left to pick - they have left the pending list." / "... ... line(s) are still to pick (... in all) and stay on the pending list for a later entry." / "... is staged in the dispatch bin for the order(s), until the voucher made from them takes it out." / "... short pick(s) recorded with their reason." / "... line(s) recorded as another bin than the ones offered."
- Why
- The entry is saved: for every line two movements were written, out of the bin scanned and into the dispatch bin. The message says whether anything of the vouchers is still to pick, and what is staged for orders.
- What to do
- Nothing to do - or tick the voucher again later for what is still pending. The bin cards on Bin Stock show the movements; Entries lists the entry.
"You do not hold the right to pick stock. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Bins (Alter)." / "You do not hold the right to cancel a picking entry. ..."
- Why
- Submitting and cancelling an entry ask for the Alter right on the bins.
- What to do
- An administrator ticks Alter on WMS - Bins for you in User Manager.
"Say why the entry is cancelled." / "The reason can't exceed 150 characters."
- Why
- A cancellation is kept with its reason.
- What to do
- Type the reason, up to 150 characters.
"Picking entry ... can not be cancelled: ...: ... - ... taken from ..., but only ... of it is picked ... Reduce or cancel that voucher first."
- Why
- A voucher made from what was picked (a Delivery Note from a Sales Order picked ahead, an Outward Supply from a Delivery Note) waits for the warehouse and has already taken what this entry picked (Linked Transaction properties > Warehouse Condition). Cancelling the entry would leave it holding more than is picked.
- What to do
- Reduce or cancel the voucher the message names first, then cancel the entry.
A Sales Order or Production Order is not offered on Picking
- Why
- Its voucher type's Use WMS Bins is Off (Voucher Manager) - the default: the order is not picked ahead. The same goes for a stock voucher that is not offered on Putaway or Picking: with Off the warehouse ignores its type and its stock reaches no bin. A stock voucher is also not offered when its lines named their bins, or the type's Default Bin Rule chose them: that stock is in (or out of) its bin already.
- What to do
- Switch Use WMS Bins on (Optional or Required) on the voucher type in Voucher Manager. A stock voucher saved before that reaches the bins with Bring the bins up to date on Bin Reconciliation.
"Picking entry ... is cancelled already." / "Picking entry ... was cancelled by someone else meanwhile. Press Refresh." / Cancel this entry is greyed out
- Why
- No entry is picked, or the one picked is cancelled already.
- What to do
- Pick an entry that reads Submitted.
"That picking entry is not an entry of this storage space. Press Refresh."
- Why
- The entry belongs to another storage space, or the list is out of date.
- What to do
- Close Entries, pick the storage space, and open Entries again.
"Bin ... is Blocked ..." / a refusal by a bin when cancelling an entry
- Why
- Cancelling brings the entry's stock back to the bins it was picked from, and one of them no longer takes stock in.
- What to do
- Make the bin Active on the Bin Master, then cancel the entry; or leave the entry and move the stock on Bin Stock.
"Picking entry ... cancelled. Its stock is back in the bins it came from and is to pick again on its voucher(s)."
- Why
- The entry is cancelled: opposite movements (Reversal) were written, nothing was deleted. The dispatch bin is below zero again by what is once more to pick. Other entries of the same vouchers stay as they are.
- What to do
- Nothing to do. What the entry had picked is pending again.
