Replenishment

A pick face is the bin pickers take an item from. It has a least and a most . When it falls below its least, a Replenish task brings stock from a bulk bin, up to its most. This screen shows every face against its figures, and raises the tasks that are due.

1What this screen is for #

  • Menu path: Warehouse Management > Movement > Replenishment. Route /warehouse/replenishment .
  • A pick face is set on Bin Master : open the bin, add the item under Item rules, tick Pick face, give the least and the most.
  • Level is what the bin holds, less what released picks hold of it, plus what open tasks are already bringing. Counting what is on its way stops a second task being raised for the same gap.
  • A face is due when its level is below its least. A least of 0 means the face is never topped up.
  • What is brought is the most less the level, in whole cases where the item has a case size (Item Warehouse Settings, Units per case).
  • Stock comes from the Storage bins of the same storage space that are Active and are not themselves a pick face of the item, in walking order. One task per bin taken from.
  • Raise tasks (F5) raises every task that is due; Raise on a row raises that face only. Nothing moves until the task is confirmed on My Tasks.

2When the system raises them itself #

  • With WMS replenish automatically set to Yes (WMS Settings, group Replenishment), tasks are raised without anyone asking: when a pick is confirmed from a face, when a wave is released, and once a night with the nightly check.
  • A task raised by a wave release comes before the picks on My Tasks.
  • Set to No, tasks are raised only from this screen.
  • The Replenish tasks appear on My Tasks and the Task Board . A worker scans the bulk bin, the item and the pick face, as for a Move task.

3Toolbar & keyboard #

  • Refresh (F2) , Raise tasks (F5) . Esc closes the page.
  • Rights, on the object WMS - Replenishment: View opens the screen, Create raises tasks. Working the tasks asks WMS - Tasks: Replenish.

4If something does not work #

"You do not hold the right to open Replenishment. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Replenishment (View)." / "... raise replenishment tasks ... (Create)"
Why
The screen opens with View on WMS - Replenishment; Raise tasks needs Create.
What to do
An administrator ticks the right for you in User Manager, Masters tab.
"This storage space is not run by the WMS - it has no pick faces to fill."
Why
A pick face is a bin, and only a storage space run by the WMS has bins.
What to do
Pick a storage space run by the WMS.
This storage space has no pick face
Why
No bin of the storage space has an item rule marked Pick face with a most above zero.
What to do
On Bin Master open the bin pickers take the item from, add the item under Item rules, tick Pick face, and give its least and most.
A pick face is empty but is not listed as due
Why
Its least is 0 - a face with no least is never topped up - or open tasks are already bringing enough: the level counts what is on its way.
What to do
Give the face a least on Bin Master. Untick Only the pick faces below their least to see its level and what is on its way.
"No pick face is below its least - nothing to raise."
Why
Every face holds its least, counting what picks hold and what open tasks are bringing.
What to do
Nothing to do.
"Nothing raised: ... pick face(s) are below their least, but no bulk bin holds the item free. Each row says why." / Row: "No bulk bin of this storage space holds the item free - receive or move stock into a Storage bin."
Why
A task takes stock from a Storage bin that is Active and is not itself a pick face of the item. None holds the item free: it is all on pick faces, held by picks, asked for by open tasks, or not in the storage space at all.
What to do
Receive the item, put away what waits at the dock, or move stock into a Storage bin; then raise again.
Row: "The bulk bins can give ... of the ... wanted."
Why
Bulk holds less than the face needs to reach its most.
What to do
The task is raised for what there is. Nothing else to do unless more stock is due in.
Row: "The bin is <status> - nothing is brought to it until it is Active."
Why
The pick face is Blocked, or frozen by a count.
What to do
Release the bin on Bin Master, or finish the count; then raise again.
"... Replenish task(s) raised. They are on My Tasks; the stock moves when each is confirmed." - but the face still shows empty
Why
Not an error. Raising a task moves nothing; the column On its way shows what the tasks will bring.
What to do
A worker confirms the task on My Tasks: scan the bulk bin, the item, and the pick face.
Tasks are not raised by themselves after a pick
Why
WMS replenish automatically is set to No, or the bin picked from is not a pick face of the item, or the face still holds its least.
What to do
Set it to Yes on WMS Settings, group Replenishment; check the face's least on Bin Master.

This is the help InvoiceNET® ERP shows beside the Replenishment screen. Whether you have the screen depends on the modules of your licence and the rights your administrator has given you.
