1What this screen is for #
- Menu path: Warehouse Management > Movement > Transfers. Route /warehouse/transfers .
- The list shows every transfer that leaves or reaches a storage space open to your branch: short ones first, then those in transit, oldest first. A transfer past its expected date is marked late.
- The sending storage space must be run by the WMS: the stock leaves from its bins. The destination may be any storage space. The transit space is a storage space of the type Transit, made on the Warehouse master; it has no bins.
- Each step is a Stock Transfer voucher saved by this screen. The voucher type needs Use WMS bins on and System numbering (Voucher Manager).
- To move stock between bins of one storage space, use a Move task - no voucher is needed.
2Sending #
- New transfer (F3) : pick where it goes, the transit space, the date expected and the vehicle. Find items in the bins of the sending space, press Add, and give the quantity. Save - it is a draft and nothing has moved.
- Only stock that is free is offered: not held by a pick, not asked for by an open task or another draft, in an Active bin, without a batch and not held by serial number.
- Change draft reopens it; Cancel draft ends it with a reason.
- Dispatch (F5) checks the bins again and posts the voucher: the stock leaves the bins and is in transit. A dispatched transfer cannot be cancelled - it is received, or returned.
3Receiving, and a short transfer #
- Receive (F4) , at the destination: enter what arrived on each line, and of it what arrived damaged. A voucher brings it in. Where the destination is run by the WMS it lands in the receiving bin and Putaway tasks are raised; damaged stock lands in the QC hold bin where there is one.
- A transfer may be received in several parts. What has not arrived stays in transit .
- Never more than was sent: a surplus is received on a voucher of its own.
- Tick Nothing more is coming when the vehicle is unloaded and something is missing, and say what happened. The transfer is then Short and the sending site's approvers are told.
- Decide short transfer , at the sending site, by a holder of Approve: Keep waiting puts it back in transit; Return posts a voucher that brings the rest back into the sender; Close short ends it with a reason - the quantity then stays in the books of the transit space until a voucher adjusts it there.
4Toolbar & keyboard #
- Refresh (F2) , New transfer (F3) , Receive (F4) , Dispatch (F5) . Esc closes a dialog; with none open, the page.
- Rights, on the object WMS - Transfers: View opens the screen, Create drafts and dispatches, Alter receives, Delete cancels a draft, Approve decides a short transfer.

"You do not hold the right to open Transfers. An administrator grants it in User Manager, Masters tab, on the object WMS - Transfers (View)." / "... see a transfer ..." / "... open a transfer ... - Why
- Each act asks its own right on the object WMS - Transfers.
- What to do
- An administrator ticks the right for you in User Manager, Masters tab.
"No Stock Transfer voucher type is ready for a transfer. ...: Use WMS bins is Off on this type - the bins would not follow the voucher" / "... its number is typed by hand (Numbering, Manual) - a transfer cannot type one; set System numbering" / "The company has no Stock Transfer voucher type ..." / "Pick the Stock Transfer voucher type the transfer posts." / "... cannot be posted by a transfer: ..."
- Why
- Every step of a transfer is a Stock Transfer voucher. Its type needs Use WMS bins on, so that the bins follow, and System numbering, because nobody types its number.
- What to do
- In Voucher Manager, on the Stock Transfer type, set Use WMS bins to Optional or Required and Numbering to System.
"No storage space of the type Transit is open to your branch ..." / "Pick the transit storage space the stock is in while it is on the road." / "... is of the type ... - pick a storage space of the type Transit (Warehouse master)." / "... is run by the WMS - a transit storage space has no bins." / "The transit storage space cannot be one of the two ends." / "The transit storage space is not open to your branch."
- Why
- Stock on the road is in the books of a transit storage space: one of the type Transit, not run by the WMS, different from both ends.
- What to do
- Make one on the Warehouse master with Type Transit - one for the company, or one per route - and pick it.
"Pick the storage space the stock leaves." / "Pick the storage space the stock goes to." / "The stock would go from ... to ... - a transfer needs two different storage spaces. To move stock inside one, use a Move task." / "The stock would go to the storage space it leaves ..." / "... is a transit storage space - it is where the stock is on the road, not where it goes."
- Why
- A transfer has two different ends, neither of them a transit space.
- What to do
- Pick both ends. Inside one storage space, raise a Move task on the Task Board instead - no voucher is needed.
"The sending storage space is not open to your branch." / "The receiving storage space is not open to your branch." / "..., the sending|receiving|transit storage space, is Inactive." / "... is a group - it holds no stock." / "... is not run by the WMS - a transfer takes the stock from its bins. Send from a storage space run by the WMS, or use the Stock Transfer voucher."
- Why
- Both ends must be active storage spaces open to the branch you signed in to, and the sender must be run by the WMS.
- What to do
- Pick storage spaces from the lists. To send from a storage space without bins, use the Stock Transfer voucher under Voucher Entry.
"Add at least one line ..." / "A transfer carries up to 500 lines." / "The same item from the same bin is on two lines - put it on one." / "Line n: the quantity must be above zero." / "Line n: a quantity has at most four decimals." / "The date expected has already passed." / "The vehicle number can't exceed 30 characters." / "The driver's name can't exceed 100 characters." / "The seal number can't exceed 50 characters." / "The note can't exceed 500 characters."
- Why
- The draft is not complete or a field is too long.
- What to do
- Put right what each numbered reason names - they are all listed at once.
"Line n: bin ... holds ... of ... free to send - the line asks for ...." / "Line n: that bin of ... does not hold the item free to send - it may be in a batch, held by serial number, allocated to a pick, or the bin is not Active." / Nothing free matches
- Why
- Only free stock is sent: in an Active bin of kind Storage, Pick face or Staging; not held by a pick, an open Move or Replenish task or another draft; without a batch; not held by serial number.
- What to do
- Lower the quantity or pick another bin. Stock in a batch or held by serial number is transferred on the Stock Transfer voucher screen.
"... is <status> - only a draft is changed." / "... was changed by someone else while you had it open. It is read again - make your change once more." / "That transfer no longer exists. Press Refresh." / "Neither end of that transfer is a storage space open to the branch you signed in to."
- Why
- The transfer moved on, or somebody else changed it, while the screen showed the older state.
- What to do
- Press Refresh (F2) and look again.
"Say why the transfer is cancelled - it is kept with it." / "The reason can't exceed 200 characters." / "... is <status> - only a draft is cancelled. Stock that has left is received at the destination or returned to the sender." / "... is not open to your branch - a draft is cancelled by the sending site."
- Why
- Only a draft is cancelled, by the sending site, with a reason.
- What to do
- Give the reason. A dispatched transfer is received, or reported short and returned.
"... cannot be dispatched yet:" / "...: bin ... no longer holds it free to send - it was picked, moved or counted since the draft was made. Change the line." / "...: bin ... holds ... free now - the line asks for .... Change the line." / "The transfer has no line." / "The voucher type ... is no longer a Stock Transfer type." / "... is <status> - it has been dispatched already."
- Why
- The dispatch checks the draft again as it leaves: the bins may hold less than when the draft was made.
- What to do
- Press Change draft and correct the lines; then Dispatch.
"... was refused by the voucher save - nothing has left. Put it right and dispatch again:" / "... nothing is received ..." / "... nothing is returned ..." / "The voucher type ... could not be read." / "... could not be loaded for ... (the voucher type's item filter leaves it out, or the item is inactive). Transfer it on the voucher screen." / "The voucher type's line routing dropped a line ..."
- Why
- Each step is saved through the ERP's own voucher save with all its checks: the financial year, the transaction date rule, negative stock, the voucher type's item filter. The reasons follow the message.
- What to do
- Put right what the reasons name and press the button again. Nothing was moved.
"This transfer is being posted by another request right now. Wait a moment and press Refresh."
- Why
- Dispatch, Receive or Decide was pressed twice, or two people pressed at once. Only one runs.
- What to do
- Wait, press Refresh (F2), and look at the transfer before pressing again.
"... cannot be received as entered:" / "Enter what arrived on at least one line - or tick Nothing more is coming, if the vehicle brought nothing." / "...: a quantity cannot be below zero." / "...: a quantity has at most four decimals." / "...: ... damaged is more than the ... that arrived. Damaged is part of what arrived." / "...: damaged is part of what arrived - it cannot be more." / "... is on the receipt twice." / "A line of the receipt is not on this transfer. Press Refresh." / "The note can't exceed 300 characters."
- Why
- A receipt records what arrived on each line, damaged goods included.
- What to do
- Enter the quantities - all the reasons are listed at once.
"...: ... is more than the ... still in transit. A transfer never receives more than was sent - receive the surplus on a voucher of its own."
- Why
- More arrived than the sender dispatched.
- What to do
- Receive what was sent here. Take the surplus in on a Stock Transfer or receipt voucher of its own, and tell the sender.
"... is not open to your branch - a transfer is received by the site it goes to." / "... is <status> - only a transfer in transit is received." / "... was reported short and waits for the sender's decision - nothing is received on it until then."
- Why
- A transfer is received at its destination while it is in transit. A short one waits for the sender.
- What to do
- Sign in at the receiving branch. For a short transfer, ask the sender to decide Keep waiting if more has since arrived.
Warning: "The putaway tasks could not be raised: ... Put the stock away on Putaway." / "The save noted a stock warning: ..."
- Why
- The receipt is saved and the stock is in the receiving bin; only the tasks could not be made, or the save passed with a warning.
- What to do
- Put the stock away on the Putaway screen. Read the stock warning on the voucher.
"Something is still in transit and nothing more is coming: say what happened in the note - the sender's manager decides on it."
- Why
- Reporting a transfer short needs the receiving site's account of it.
- What to do
- Write what was missing and how it was found.
"Pick the decision: Keep waiting, Return, Close short." / "... is <status> - only a transfer reported short is decided." / "... is not open to your branch - a short transfer is decided by the sending site." / "Say why the transfer is closed short - what was lost and how. It is kept with the transfer." / "The note can't exceed 300 characters."
- Why
- A short transfer is decided at the sending site by a holder of Approve. Closing it short needs a reason.
- What to do
- Pick the decision and give the reason.
"... closed short of .... That quantity is still in the books of ...: adjust it there with a voucher ..."
- Why
- Not an error. Closing short ends the transfer but posts no voucher: the lost quantity is still stock of the transit storage space in the books.
- What to do
- Post a Physical Stock voucher on the transit storage space, or transfer the quantity to a damage space, as the accounts require.
A transfer is not listed
- Why
- The list shows transfers that leave or reach a storage space open to your branch; closed and cancelled ones only with the box ticked, for 60 days.
- What to do
- Tick Show closed and cancelled too. For another branch's transfer, sign in to that branch.
