The everyday accounting vouchers - money received, money paid, transfers between your own accounts and journal entries - entered once and posted to the books.
General Voucher is where the day's money entries go in InvoiceNET®. Record money received, money paid, cash moved to the bank and journal adjustments. When a voucher saves, you settle the bills it pays, share the expense across cost centres and note the cheque, UPI or transfer details. Each voucher type can fix one side to an account, insist on a narration or reference, and refuse amounts above a limit. Debit must equal credit, and the date must fall in your financial year. Every problem is listed at once before you confirm the save.
Why use it
- You never know which bills a payment actually clearedHere each receipt or payment is matched to its bills as it is saved.
- You find an unbalanced entry at month endHere a voucher that does not balance is refused before it saves.
- You chase cheque numbers in a separate notebookHere the cheque, DD, ECS or UPI details are kept on the voucher line.
- You cannot tell what each activity or project spentHere expenses are split across cost centres on the same screen.
- You worry about staff back-dating entriesHere a date other than today needs a right, and closed periods cannot be touched.
Key advantages
Bill-by-bill allocation opens after the save, and the receivable and payable ageing reports are built from those references.
Voucher types set which account groups each side may use, so a cash payment offers only the right accounts.
Compulsory narration, reference number and a maximum amount per voucher type are checked by the program, not by a reviewer.
Every error is shown together as a numbered list, so one correction pass fixes the voucher.
Date rights and closed periods stop changes to finished months, which a spreadsheet cannot enforce.
Locking makes saved vouchers read-only on save, on verification or after a period.
Business benefits
Outstanding you trust
You see exactly what each customer owes and what you owe each supplier, bill by bill.
Fewer posting errors
Unbalanced or incomplete vouchers are stopped at entry, so the books need less correcting later.
Control over dates
Only people you allow can date entries away from today, and closed periods stay closed.
Cost visibility
Expenses carry their cost centre, so you can see what each activity really costs.
Where it is used
A dealer pays one cheque against several invoices of different dates.
The receipt settles each invoice by reference, and the cheque details are kept on the line.
Office rent and travel are shared between two projects.
The payment is split across cost centres as it is saved.
Cash is deposited into the bank at the end of each day.
A contra voucher records the transfer between your own accounts in one entry.
What it costs, and what it saves
For the whole licence, whatever the number of companies and users. Or USD 88.00 a year for 12 months.
What it replaces
- Matching payments to bills by hand
- Hunting for an entry that did not balance
- Keeping cheque details in a separate register
- Correcting entries made in a finished month
Work out your saving
Your own figures, 26 working days a month. An estimate, not a promise. User licences are priced separately.
What it does for you
Receipt, payment, contra and journal vouchers.
Bills settled as the voucher is saved, so what is outstanding is always right.
Cost centres and cheque details taken on the same screen.
Post-dated vouchers that reach the books on their own date.
